I started the company I always wanted to work at, and had a really good co-founder to help me do it. It was called Lost Horse.
After years of working with Fortune 100 companies, I shifted my focus to help those who refused to settle for the ordinary. Lost Horse partnered with small businesses to create human-centered brands, websites, and software that spoke directly to their audience. All powered by green, solar-hosted solutions.
What Lost Horse Brought #
The team brought top-tier, thoughtful, and holistic design to businesses of all sizes, without the overhead or hassle of traditional agencies.
The goal was to be a long-term partner in success, not just someone you get an app from. We were also creating an employee-owned company. This meant every team member had a stake in the business and a shared commitment to our clients’ success.
Branding #
Just a fun side note, I enjoyed getting to do the branding for this. I named the company after an area that meant a lot to me in the Mojave Desert, and thought it had enough mystery that people could read a little story into it.
Everything was western-inspired, but still distinctly modern. The typefaces were funky, weird, and very unlike every other agency out there. Everything was intentional, from the email addresses down to the slick business cards I ordered. I always got great comments about how the company presented. Here are a few images from the site:
